for myself

It’s 3am and your mind won’t stop

or It’s the middle of the day and you can’t explain why everything feels heavy.

or it’s both, on repeat, and you’re tired of it.

you’re not broken. but you might be carrying more than you were designed to carry alone.

more than 300 million people globally live with depression. over 350 million with anxiety.

there are even more who may not have these conditions, but live in grief, stress, or a lack of peace.

If that's where you are right now, regardless of how heavy the burden is — you are not alone in it, and there is no shame in it.

and there’s a peace that is above and through it all.

and there’s a peace that is above and through it all.

and there’s a peace that is above and through it all.

and there’s a peace that is above and through it all.

what does a lack of peace feel like for you right now?

anxiety — the thoughts that spiral, the tomorrow you can’t stop dreading

stress — when everything is too much and there's no off switch

depression — when the weight doesn't lift and you've forgotten what lighter felt like

grief — when loss has taken something and peace feels like a betrayal

a lack of peace often relates to a lack of security.

about tomorrow, about the thing that happened, about the relationship

but you were not designed to

be your own security system.

but you were not designed to be your own security system.

Don’t worry about anything;
instead, pray about everything.

Tell God what you need,
and thank him for all he has done.

Then you will experience God’s peace,
which exceeds anything we can understand.

His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

— Philippians 4:6-7

Guard

Guard

to guard (keep watch) like a military sentinel; to actively display whatever defensive and offensive means are necessary to guard..

to guard (keep watch) like a military sentinel; to actively display whatever defensive and offensive means are necessary to guard..

that’s the promise God gives.

when we bring all our cares to him

His peace, like a military sentinel, actively guards our hearts and our minds.

His peace, like a military sentinel,

actively guards our hearts and our minds.

and peace is not just a feeling.

Jesus is called Prince of Peace.

and the peace he gives is not like the peace the world thinks it should be.

it’s a supernatural peace, beyond what we can understand.

a peace that comes from complete wholeness, everything the way he intends.

a peace that comes from complete wholeness,

everything the way he intends.

the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.”

— Isaiah 53:5

today, you can receive the Prince of Peace
