with God

is there peace available to me?

These are not small questions. And they deserve honest answers, not easy ones.

some people arrive here having grown up with faith that never quite became their own.

some arrive having walked away from religion and not being entirely sure they want to go back.

some arrive having been hurt by a church, a leader, or someone who spoke in God's name.

and some arrive with no framework at all — just a quiet sense that there might be something more, and a song that caught them off guard.

Maybe it's: is God real?

Or: if he is, is he actually good?

Or: after everything — after what I've done, or what's been done to me —

and there’s a peace that is above and through it all.

and there’s a peace that is above and through it all.

what's underneath the question for you?

shame — the sense of being too far gone, too much history, disqualified from peace

doubt — real questions that deserve real engagement, not dismissal

hurt — when the church, or someone in it, someone meant to represent God but didn’t, is part of why peace with God feels impossible

starting from scratch — no background, no framework, just curious

peace with God is not something you earn or maintain or deserve.

it is something that was secured — at enormous cost — and offered. freely. to you.

the war between humanity and God is over. that is the central claim of the Christian faith.

Since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

— Romans 5:1

Justified

declared righteous — not because of what you've done, but because of what was done for you. the basis of peace with God.

declared righteous — not because of what you've done, but because of what was done for you. the basis of peace with God.

Jesus absorbed every consequence of everything that separates us from God.

so that nothing would have to stand between you and him.

that is the foundation everything else rests on. not a technique. not a practice. not a feeling. a person.

peace is not a feeling.

Jesus is called Prince of Peace.

and the peace he gives is not like the peace the world thinks it should be.

it’s a supernatural peace, beyond what we can understand.

a peace that comes from complete wholeness, everything the way he intends.

the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.”

— Isaiah 53:5
